Dual-Layer EXIF Annihilation · Zero Traces Left

THE EXIF AXE 🪓

Two layers of destruction. Manual JPEG/PNG marker stripping + GD pixel re-encode. GPS coordinates, camera fingerprints, maker notes, timestamps. Nothing survives.

THE TWO LAYERS
Why dual-layer? Because one pass isn’t good enough.
Layer One

Binary Marker Stripping

Parses the raw JPEG byte stream and surgically removes APP1 (EXIF + XMP), APP13 (Photoshop/IPTC), APP3–APP15 (manufacturer private data), COM comment segments, and ICC profile blocks before any decoding happens. For PNG it removes tEXt, iTXt, zTXt, eXIf, and iCCP chunks directly.

Layer Two

Full Pixel Re-encode

After marker stripping, GD rebuilds the image entirely from raw pixel data. The output is a freshly encoded JPEG/PNG. Only color values survive. No headers, no maker notes, no thumbnails, no comment blocks, no software signatures. This is what makes it truly complete.
